Transport Infrastructure

The Allrisk MERIDIEM complex is located close to the newly built soundproof public transport stop, the connection to the city ring road and the D1 and D2 motorway on-ramps.A modern boulevard will be created in the new southern district of Trnitá, connecting the new development through the train and bus terminals with the historic city centre. This avenue envisages a combination of all modes of transport, with an emphasis on pedestrians and cyclists. Two car lanes in each direction and a tram lane in the centre line will ensure safe and smooth traffic flow.

After its reconstruction, the train station will become part of the European-wide rail network, thus creating an important transport terminal with associated parking spaces, taxi service and bicycle storage. The planned high-speed trains will make Brno a strategic location for modern travel.

About the New Trnitá District

The area south of Brno's historic centre will soon begin to transform into a modern urban district that will offer a home to ten to fifteen thousand inhabitants. Its gateway will be the new main station that will be built according to the winning design of an international competition. The backbone of Trnitá will be a boulevard that will bring wide pavements, plenty of greenery and smooth traffic flow to the public space. By simplifying the existing track network of the main station, there will be room for more nature and more housing development. The comprehensive design of the adjacent areas includes a public transport hub including parking lots, taxi services and bike storage. Brno's main watercourses - Svratka and Svitava - will also be revived. As part of the revitalisation, the banks will be lowered, creating a space that will offer visitors access to the water and places for leisure activities in the form of greenery, cycling and walking trails.
